The following issues have been discussed during the meeting:
__________________
The New Maintenance Center
The construction is scheduled to be completed in summer 2004 (June or August) 2004.
__________________
The Children/adult playground
The present maintenance building is to be razed and a playground is to be constructed at that location.
The playground may contain separate areas for the children and adults (e.g. Basketball or Volleyball outdoor courts).
The plan is however open for any other suggestions form the residents.

Roads status
The department of Parking, Traffic and Transportation (PTT) is responsible for the paving and the surfacing of the UA area. However, Mr. Smith offered that the dormitories would help patching the holes on the road as a temporary cure until the area is completely paved by PTT.

UACC is planning to contact the department of transportation, regarding the bus
services. It appears that the bus service is often irregular. In addition the PTT
department needs to assign “fixed” locations in UA area, so that the
appropriate benches and shelters could be installed for the bus users.

On-line e-pay system
The electronic payment system hopefully launches in September 2004.

New transformers in Hensel apartments
New ground transformers have been installed in Hensel. This upgrade allows revisiting the air conditioning system in Hensel apartments.

Pressurized water and air by the new maintenance building
It was suggested that the pressurized water and air be installed by the new maintenance building for the residents use.

Clogged sewage pipelines
There are incidents of sewage problem (reverse sewage flow) in the first floors of the College Avenue apartments and the Hensel apartments. Such incidents should be reported to the maintenance office and the problem would be addressed to the extent possible.

House-Cleaning workshop
It was suggested by the attendees that UA sponsor a workshop on general cleaning guidelines and tricks for the interested residents.

The office of resident life has the liberty to “encourage” the residents to
have more active and constructive roles in the UA community.
There are many ways in which you can make a difference in your community. If you are interested in becoming involved with the UACC, please visit with Mrs. Maria Clark, the advisor of UACC, in the Programming Office or call 862-2350.
