Regarding some funding issues, the advisor, officers and representatives had a meeting on Friday June 20 at 6 pm.

The following lists the gist of our talk:

1- The programming office has $1,206.12 funding to spend before August 31 (council’s fund)

2- The programming office also raised some $1200 (separate) fund to be used for the international events/activities of UA (International fund)

3- Potential funding may be also available through the Student Activities office (Student activity fund).

Suggested (/potential) ways to spend these funds

1- Welcome social (2^nd week of August)

2- Ice cream social (in July)

3- International Forum/buffet

4- Movies for UA video library (DVD or VHS)

5- The purchases of a digital camera, scanner or printer were disapproved due to some underlying technicalities, which were discussed during the meeting.

… Still open to other suggestions!

Approved budget allocation thus far:

· $400 for the video library. The programming office is open to any quality movie (either international or American); admittedly there would be a price compromise to exhaust the fund optimally.

· ($ ???) Welcome Social is August is a must, however it is not clear if the receipt of this event are accepted for the “Council’s fund”, since the receipts may be dated after August 15 (not later than August 31 though). Maria would clear us in this issue.

As an aside the officers and the representatives decided to have an overall enquiry regarding the recent rent hikes in UA (i.e. almost  %6 increase).
