The following issues have been discussed during the meeting:

1. Announcement by Dawood Asalad, Bangladesh Student Association
· Ejaz benefit luncheon to be organized by Bangladesh Student Association on Oct. 28, 2004. Tickets are available with Maria Clark in the Programming Office.

2. Announcement by Prakash Krishnan, Former UACC President
· Ejaz Family Fund Raiser. Howdy T-shirt campaign: Volunteers are required. If you are interested, please give your names to Prakash Krishnan, email: prakashnairk@hotmail.com

3. Announcements by Rahul Ribeiro, President UACC
· Presidential Task force for investigating July 31 fire at University apts. and other issues have started work on October 15, 2004.
· Two students from UACC are on the task force: Rahul Ribeiro, President UACC and Alireza Shapoury, VP UACC
· Third student on task force is Joshua Peschel, Former President, Graduate Student Council.
· Task force appointed by Dr. Bresciani, VP for Student affairs to handle customer service and communications issues of University apts. will be chaired by Dr. Jan Winniford, Associate VP for Student affairs. Resident Unmil P. Karadkar will represent UACC on this task force.
· Halloween party will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004
· Family week-Nov 6 to 13 starting with world culture day on Nov. 6 and ending with the international buffet on Nov. 14th.
· UACC is planning to introduce two new officer positions: Publicity officer and Events coordinator officer
· Area representative positions for Ball St. and Ave. A need to be filled.

4. Announcement by Mr. Dave Salmon
· Aggie Nights are held every Friday night from 8:00PM to midnight.
· Returning graduate students form a large number of the attendees. The families of the students can also attend the Aggie Nights. The food service starts at 10:00PM.

5. Announcements by Mr. Ron Sasse
· Explained the planned University apartment information for 2005. All the documents about the university apartment budget information can be found in UACC website: http://uacc.tamu.edu
· Stove replacement issue: It may start from Nov. 14 depending on the task force’s recommendation. University apts. Budget also depends on the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force.
· Sidewalk along the Hansel is in the planning stage.
· For the utility, the meter only counts the power consumption inside the apartment. The detail number of power consumption can be got from the university apartment office. Ms. Joni Page is willing to help residents with that.
· Safety issue:
Ø Bike registration, starting from next year.
Ø Bike tag, recommendation to put a tag with your information on your bike.
Ø Bike theft: It is necessary to report a bike theft to the police so that you can get the bike back once the police finds it.
· If any place is short of a bike rack, you can report it to the department of resident life, they are willing to handle that.

The office of resident life has the liberty to “encourage” the residents to
have more active and constructive roles in the UA community.
